Proposal 3 is not a direct replacement nor restoration for Roe V Wade but goes far beyond what that judgment permitted: Vote NO on Proposal 3

Here’s why the proposal is Too Confusing and Too Extreme:

Recently, the pro-abortion lobby and their allies in Michigan have succeeded in placing on the November 8th ballot an amendment to the Michigan constitution, called “Reproductive Freedom for All” or Proposal 3.

To tinker with the constitution is serious business and the proposal should be rejected on that basis alone. Nevertheless, the pro-abortion lobbyists and supporters have been spreading massive misinformation on the proposal and hiding the extremity of this proposal. Proposal 3 is the most extreme ballot proposal that this country has ever witnessed.

Proposal 3 would allow:
–abortion up to and including the day of birth,
–allow partial birth abortions,
–eliminate dozens of Michigan laws regulating abortion including the removal of parental consent and notification laws, the removal of 24 hour waiting periods, removal of required licensing and inspection of abortion clinics, and more.
–prohibit prosecution of malpractice for abortion providers who injure or kill a woman during an abortion procedure,
–allow anyone to perform an abortion, even if they don’t have a medical license,
–void any laws prohibiting tax funding for abortion and remove conscientious objections, forcing doctors and other medical providers to support or perform abortions.

In addition, proposal 3 is not limited to abortion. It allows sterilization without age limits and allows medical surgeries, puberty blockers, and other medical interventions for gender change with no age limits nor parental consent, nor regulation, nor counseling for confused youth or adults.

At present, most Michiganians don’t know about Proposal 3 nor its extreme ramifications. The pro-abortion lobby and their allies are pushing daily misinformation to hide the severity of the proposal. In addition, as Catholics, we are subject to daily narratives, published by media sympathizers of the pro-abortion cause, that are designed to attack our Catholic Faith and undermine our beliefs in the dignity of all human life, from the moment of conception until natural death.

It’s up to us to tell our neighbors, friends, and family why this proposal is wrong for Michigan. Proposal 3 is not a direct replacement nor restoration for Roe V Wade but goes far beyond what that judgment permitted affecting negatively every Michiganian.

Read the full amendment language (not just the summary)

As you read the amendment language, note the open-ended and ambiguous wording that allows for much more than simply what we already have with regards to abortion rights in Michigan.
