READER OF THE WORD: * proclaim God's Word to the assembly * prayerfully prepare the readings at home in order to have a proper understanding of what is being proclaimed at Mass * show proper reverence * have knowledge of scripture * have familiarity with the Church's yearly liturgical calendar * give attention to proper posture, tone, pitch, volume, eye contact, adjustment of the microphone, etc.
EXTRAORDINARY MINISTER OF HOLY COMMUNION: * greet people at the doors of Church as they arrive for Mass * show proper reverence with distribution of Holy Communion to fellow brothers and sisters in Christ * believe that the Sacred Host and Precious Blood are the true presence of Christ
ALTAR ASSISTANT: * arrive 30-45 mins. ahead of time * turn on church lights & sound sysgtem, light candles in Sanctuary, prepare sacred vessels and other liturgical items before Mass begins * oversee the arrival of all other liturgical ministers * recruit a family each week to assist with the Offertory Gifts * lead the Offertory Procession forward * assist the priest at the altar as needed during the second part of the Mass * clean up when Mass has ended
USHER: * greet people as they arrive at Mass * assist people with finding seats when necessary * collect the assembly's monetary contributions at Offertory * direct people forward for Communion * distribute the parish bulletin as people leave Mass * generally help in answering questions or directing people
LIVESTREAM OPERATOR: * assist with the livestreaming of weekend Masses and/or special liturgies, such as holy days, weddings, funerals, etc. when available * commit to ongoing training, if there are changes and updates to the system
BAPTISM ASSISTANT: * set up for baptisms prior to the beginning of Mass * greet baptismal families * explain the logistics of what takes place during the Mass and at the rite of baptism * clean up afterwards
