All are Welcome!
Our Strings Program is open to grades kindergarten through 4th grade. Classes are on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:15 -4:15 pm for violin instruction. New this year, cello will also be offered to students in 3rd – 5th grade. Once a week, music theory and ear training courses are offered in addition to the instrumental sessions. There are three levels of experience ranging from beginner to intermediate. Students have the opportunity to play at masses and perform in the community.
The members play as an ensemble at various school and Sunday 8:30 am Masses throughout the year.
There is an incredible benefit to group process instrumental classes and we hope you have the opportunity to be a part of this program.
The St. Francis Middle School Program is intended for students in grades 5 through 8 and takes place on Thursdays at the church in the choir room from 3:10-4:15. Students must have a minimum of 3 years experience on the instrument and private lessons are highly encouraged to accompany these group classes. The classes are taught by violinist and educator Dr. Jacqueline Nutting. Students perform at mass twice monthly and are featured soloists during offertory. Other performances include Briarwood Mall, School and church events such as Grandparent’s Day, TriArts Concert, Spring Arts Festival and the year end Violin Program performance.
