Fall Chore Day - Saturday, November 8th, 2008:
Come help prepare homes for the winter - raking leaves, general yard clean-up, replacing smoke alarm batteries, window washing. Form a group or come alone and join our many volunteers. 10:00AM to 2:00PM or whatever fits into your schedule.
If you have any questions about Chore Day, please contact: NSS Volunteer Services (734-712-7259  or 734-712-7775)             .   Or, complete both the application and a project release concent form found at: NSSweb.org
Please visit http://nssjoyride.org/fallchore for more information and to register!

We are looking for volunteers to join the fun and, at the same time, help older adults who want to remain at home but require assistance to do so.  The seniors helped by NSS lack the capability to do the work themselves, usually have no family in the area, and are unable to secure qualified assistance that they can afford.

Come alone or form a group, but please join more than 300 other volunteers from Washtenaw County schools, businesses, congregations and service groups as we prepare seniors’ homes for the winter.  Enjoy a fall afternoon raking yards, checking smoke alarms, and assuring frail seniors that they are not forgotten.
