Here's a Log of the Past Events.
The purpose of our monthly seniors' gathering
is to create an environment for seniors at St. Francis Parish to socialize
and grow together in community and in the love of Jesus. We enjoy educational,
devotional, & entertaining events, humor, practical exercises, interesting
facts, day trips & we ordinarily have from 20 - 70 seniors in attendance. |

Ride the Rails – Fall Color Tour -
The Southern Michigan Railroad Society, Inc. 2.25 hour round trip excursion
train trip travels through the countryside to Raisin Center &
NS Tracks, with a stop for cider & donuts before returning to Tecumseh.
Cost: $20.00 includes transportation from St. Francis to Tecumseh as well
as the train fare.
Departure at 12 noon in a 15-passanger van(s), will be from St. Francis's
parking lot in front of the PAC. (Our train departs Tecumseh at 1:30
p.m.) We plan to arrive back at St. Francis by about 5 p.m.
(You are welcome to bring food and eat on the train.) (Dress for outside
weather! Rain or Shine.) (No restroom facilities on the train.)

TRIP to see the “AshCan” Exhibit at The Detroit Institute of
Arts (DIA). The DIA brings you the exhibition Life's Pleasures, featuring
80 paintings depicting vibrant and diverse leisure activities, as experienced
by American artists known collectively as the Ashcan school. Lunch
at Café DIA. (Lunch prices will range between $7 to $12.
No bag lunches.) Admission Tickets to see the special "AshCan"
exhibit is $12 at the door. (Or, $8 for General Admission is
good to see the new American Wing & other general collections, [but,
does not include special "AshCan" exhibit]). Transportation Cost:

of all ages as we: 50th Anniversary Celebration for Bishop Mengeling:Come
and wish the bishop well and thank him for 50 years of service to the church
as an ordained priest. Mass at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, (955
Alton Rd, East Lansing) at 2:00p.m. followed immediately by a reception.
Departure at 12:00 p.m. in a van(s), will be from St. Francis's parking
lot in front of the PAC. We plan to arrive back at St. Francis

Pavilion.

At 10:30AM Tuesday, July 11 Come with us to see ‘The Village’ @ St.
Joseph Mercy Hospital” a residence for independent and assisted
living for Senior Citizens. We’ll meet there (follow the simple
driving directions below here). Current residents of The Village
will offer us a tour (at 10:30AM) of The Village and answer our questions.
We’ll celebrate the Mass (at 11:15AM) with Fr. Terry Dumas. Lunch
at The Village Dinning Hall is compliments of The Village.
After lunch you may want to stay and play Bingo.

(10/18), the series is canceled going to be rescheduled, perhaps for Lent.
-- "OUR LATER YEARS: REACHING OUT, HOPE and INITIATIVE" by John Schwarz.
The later years mean loss, risk and challenge. But also opportunities
and new engagement, if we cooperate. God continues to call.
We need do pick up the phone and answer. This is the beginning

David Pollock. Mr. Pollock will set us to thinking as he entertains
us with his presentation (which he stresses will NOT be a discussion of
the current presidential campaign). He is a long-time history buff
and former president of the Ann Arbor Historical Foundation and the Washtenaw
County Historical Society.

For Fun everyone is invited to decorate a hat to reflect your hobby.
Like a "Mad Hatter" bring your hat to the picnic. Prizes will be
given for the most interesting hats. The picnic lunch will be served
at the Gallup Park Shelter: Bernard Mass Shelter at the back of the park
- it is the last shelter. Gallup Park entrance is across from Huron
High School on Fuller Road, west of Huron Parkway. (In case of inclement
weather we will meet in the St. Francis Parish Activities Center)
