Preparation for First Eucharist (Communion) for Children

Parents, please review the Mass with your child, using the booklet that was provided at the meeting.  Please have your child memorize the Our Father and the Confiteor

The next parent and child gathering is Sunday, March 30 at 3 p.m. and Wednesday, April 2 at 6:30 p.m. in the PAC. (Parents, please plan on attending one of these meetings with your child).  Activities for this meeting include:  Father's talk on the Mass, the readiness interview, and work on the banner.

Preparation for the Sacrament of First Eucharist normally takes place in the second grade for children baptized in the Catholic Faith.Essential for the preparation of First Eucharist is regular worship in Sunday Mass, participation in religious education, previous celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation, two parent and child preparation meetings, and a commitment on the part of the parents to the religious education of their children after the first reception of the Eucharist.

A first grade religious education is normally required for the preparation of First Eucharist in the second grade.
