Religious Education classes are designed for on-going
faith formation and for the sacramental preparation of children in grades
preschool through 8th grade not attending Catholic school. (Please
note that youth going into the 8th grade and not attending Catholic school
who already have begun Confirmation preparation still need to register
for fall classes).
Participation in Religious Education classes
for at least a year prior to the reception of First Eucharist (normally
celebrated in the 2nd grade) and on-going yearly class participation prior
to beginning preparation for Confirmation (normally celebrated in the 8th
grade) is the recommended requirement for Sacramental Celebration.
Also, in early Fall, bibles will again be presented
during Mass to students enrolled in the 6th grade.
Religious Education classes meet once a week for
the traditional classes and twice a month on Sunday for the family Religious
Education classes. Several options of class times are offered to
parents
Traditional Sunday preschool and kindergarten
classes for 3 & 4 year olds and kindergartners are at 10:30 a.m. and
run until 11:45 a.m.
Religious Education sessions for Grades K--8.
For grades K--5 Monday/Tuesday classes begin
at 4:30 p.m. and run until 5:45 p.m. .
For grades 1-8 Wednesday classes begin at 6:30
and
run until 7:45 p.m.
Family
Religious Education classes are offered for children in pre
school -5th grade with at least one parent (or guardian) present and for
youth in grades 6-8 on two Sundays each month following the
8:45 a.m. Mass (10:20--12:10 p.m.) in the PAC.
Sessions are generally held twice a month. The first Family Religious Education
session for 2007/08 is Sept. 30
