God's Word and Worship
for Children
Children in grades K--3
are invited to experience God's Word during Mass at a level appropriate
to them. The Children's Liturgy of the Word is offered at the 8:45
and 10:30 a.m. Sunday Masses from late August through June.
Beginning with the proclamation
of the scripture readings, children in grades K--3 are invited to
come forward and process with adult leaders to the downstairs chapel.
In the chapel, the Word is read using the Children's lectionary (bible)
and activities and explanation enrich the child's understanding of the
scripture readings. Children rejoin their parents in Church when
the collection is taken up (the beginning of the Liturgy of the Eucharist).
All children in grades K--3
present at Mass are invited to take part in the Children's Liturgy of the
Word. No pre-registration is needed.
