Enjoy a visit with our friends from
Home of Hope - Orphanage - India
Read more about
the visit which happened on Tuesday, April 28th.
Please join us as we extend a warm welcome to Paul Wilkes, Sr. Sophy
and Rajeswari who come to us by way of Kochi, India. Recall
that this past summer Mr. Paul Wilkes was here at St. Francis when we gave
more than $25,000 to help the Home
of Hope Orphanage.
During this
visit Mr. Wilkes will report to us about how they are using those funds.
Also, this past fall students at St. Francis School launched an additional
fund-raising project to help build a “Field of Dreams” for the girls at
Home of Hope Orphanage. Their goal was to raise funds that could be used
to transform a vacant lot into a playground for these girls. Sr. Sophy
and Rajeswari reside at Home of Hope-India.
Discussion will focus on the Home of Hope Orphanage. Entertainment
will include an Indian dance performed by Rajeswari as well as a special
performance by our parish hand bell choir, directed by Mrs. Ginny Birchler.
Refreshments will showcase foods from India, specially prepared by Indian
members of our parish.
If you would like to assist in this special evening (especially those
who are from the Indian community) or have questions, please contact the
St. Francis School Office at 734.821.2200.
