Preparation for the Sacrament of First Eucharist normally takes place in the second grade for children baptized in the Catholic Faith. Essential for the preparation of First Eucharist is regular worship in Sunday Mass, participation in religious education, two parent and child

preparation meetings, and a commitment on the part of the parents to the religious education of their children after the first reception of the Eucharist. A first grade religious education is normally required for the preparation of First Eucharist in the second grade.

Meeting Dates and Times

Meetings take place in the Parish Activities Center (PAC). The parent and child preparation meetings for 2011/12 are scheduled as follows:

  • Sunday, February 5 at 3:00 pm and Monday, February 6 at 6:30 pm. Parents, please plan on attending one of these meetings with your child.
     
  • Sunday, March 18 at 3:00 pm and Monday, March 19 at 6:30 pm. Parents, please plan on attending one of these meetings with your child.
     
  • Rehearsals are Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday, May 1/2/3 at 6:30 pm in church. Rehearsal dates are based on the Mass chosen for First Eucharist.

The Celebration of First Holy Eucharist is Saturday, May 5 at 10:00 am and 5:00 pm and Sunday, May 6 at 8:45 am, 10:30 am, and 12:15 pm
Mass of celebration is chosen using the Eucharist Registration form and is due by the March 18/19 meetings.
